Jun 08, 2020 Maxima is a fairly complete computer algebra system written in Lisp with an emphasis on symbolic computation. It is based on DOE-MACSYMA and licensed under the GPL free software license. Its abilities include symbolic integration, 3D plotting and solving differential equations.

Maxima is a free and open source function plotter software app filed under calculators and made available by Alexey Beshenov for Windows.

The review for Maxima has not been completed yet, but it was tested by an editor here on a PC.

  1. Maxima is GPL-licensed and largely written in Common Lisp. Executables can be downloaded for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android; source code is also available. An active community maintains and extends the system. Maxima is widely used: annual direct downloads exceed 300,000. Many other users receive it through secondary distribution.
  2. The minimum set of packages that must be installed are maxima and maxima-exec-clisp. Since they both depend on each other, they should be installed with a single rpm command: rpm -ivh maxima-x.y.z-n.i386.rpm maxima-exec-clisp-x.y.z-n.i386.rpm Clisp and Gnuplot. Should be installed in your system.

Maxima is a system for the manipulation of symbolic and numerical expressions, including differentiation, integration, Taylor series, Laplace transforms, ordinary differential equations, systems of linear equations, polynomials, sets, lists, vectors, matrices and tensors.

Maxima yields high precision numerical results by using exact fractions, arbitrary-precision integers and variable-precision floating-point numbers. Maxima can plot functions and data in two and three dimensions.

Maxima on 32-bit and 64-bit PCs

This download is licensed as freeware for the Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) operating system on a laptop or desktop PC from calculators without restrictions. Maxima 5.44.0 is available to all software users as a free download for Windows 10 PCs but also without a hitch on Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Compatibility with this function plotter software may vary, but will generally run fine under Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP on either a 32-bit or 64-bit setup. A separate x64 version may be available from Alexey Beshenov.

A nifty program that updates only Flashpoint Ultimate to a newer version. Can be used to create a full copy of Ultimate by setting it to an empty directory. Be warned that it will wipe Flashpoint clean - playlists, metadata changes and save games stored in Basilisk, among other things - so remember to back up those files if you need to.
